Princess Sparkles – The Wardrobe Theatre

Alt comedy scene, writer and performer Lily Maryon, brings her debut solo show Princess Sparkles to the Wardrobe Theatre.
Princess Sparkles invites audiences to step into the role of children at a birthday party whether they’re ready for it or not. Structured around familiar party favourites such as pass the parcel, musical statues, and improvised storytelling, the show recreates the unpredictable energy of a children’s party while revealing a more complex story beneath the surface.
At its centre is Princess Sparkles, a chaotic entertainer barely holding it together. What starts as nostalgic fun becomes a sharp character study revealing the emotional strain behind the act.
The show blends character comedy, clowning, and audience interaction.
It draws from Lily Maryon’s real experiences as a children’s entertainer.
The show uses verbatim moments from parties ranging from surreal to brutal highlighting the challenge of performing for children, with cutting remarks like “paid to entertain me” and “out of work actor”.
