Terry’s: An American Tragedy About Cars, Customers, and Selling Cars to Customers – The Wardrobe Theatre

November 2 - November 3
Terrys An American Tragedy About Cars, Customers, and Selling Cars to Customers

Lecoq-trained Gloucestershire theatre company BRILLIG comes to The Wardrobe Theatre this autumn with Terry’s: An American Tragedy About Cars, Customers, and Selling Cars to Customers.

It’s Memorial Day weekend. The US-of-A. The motley, motor-mouthed sales team at Terry’s Cars & Automobiles has just four days to hit their monthly target. With their salaries and sanity on the line, they must shift 66 cars by Monday or face the wrath of their overlord boss, Terry.

The show is an absurd, all-American devised comedy combining clowning, physical theatre, and original music. Initially inspired by This American Life’s podcast episode ‘129 Cars’, Terry’s takes audiences on a ride through the silly, surreal, and disturbing reaches of US capitalism, revealing the absurdity and madness rumbling under the gleaming bonnet of the American Dream.

BRILLIG creates entertaining, virtuosic, big-hearted original work which uses clowning and physical theatre to provoke personal and political reflection.
