Merrily We Roll Along – Bristol Old Vic

The Bristol School of Acting will be getting a summer run in the main house of Bristol Old Vic with their production Merrily We Roll Along.

It’s the drama school’s biggest production so far and the first time the school has staged a production on the main stage of Bristol Old Vic.

With a cast of 20 and on-stage band of 12 musicians from West End productions – including choreography by Rachael Nanyonjo – this promises to be a stellar show.

What was the moment?

Merrily We Roll Along answers those questions in reverse, moving backwards in time from 1976 to the hopeful beginnings of 1957, tracing the fractured relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his lifelong friends, Mary and Charley – and the choices that shaped their lives.

As the years unwind, a heartbreaking but hope-filled story is brought to life through an unforgettable Sondheim score, including Old Friends, Now You Know, and Not a Day Goes By.
