A Wall Is A Screen Bristol – Encounters 2023

Hamburg -based film collective – A Wall Is A Screen – brought their unique mobile film event to the city this week.

It was part of Bristol’s Summer of Film Takeover, with the Friday night event being presented by Encounters.

Running at one hour over six different locations, a crowd of people followed event organisers around central Bristol.

Taking in back lanes, the evening was atmospheric in the projection light, misty with rain and packed with Friday night revellers – some of whom relished taking part in their own way.

The event started off on Wine Street, before heading to St Nicholas Street, Clare Street, Leonard Lane, Bell Lane and finally Broad Street.

A Wall Is A Screen, is a brilliant way to bring film to people within their community. It was really entertaining even if you aren’t big on film and it gave you the chance to experience Bristol at night in a safe and interesting way.

This is definitely an event worth taking part in.
