Blood, Blackbeard and Buccaneers – Show of Strength Theatre Walks on Bristol Docks
We’ve seen Show of Strength’s fun looking theatre tour heading down King Street one sunny day and it definitely looks like an entertaining event. Could you get more Bristol with their innovative theatre, a walking tour of the city and some historical and bloodthirsty tales?
It turns out you can. Said to have formed the inspiration behind Robert Louis Stevenson’s Admiral Benbow Inn in Treasure Island, Show of Strength have now included a free Sea Shanty Night for adults at the Llandoger Trow following the tour.
The Blood, Blackbeard and Buccaneers show, takes you around Bristol docks in the footsteps of Blackbeard. He was the world’s most infamous pirate whose real name was Edward Teach. The tour will separate fact from fiction during the show based on the latest historical research of the Teach family.
Also expect pirate jokes, fun and a ‘fact-checking parrot’. And some hearty sea shanties to round the night off.
