Bristol Hippodrome Reopens Announcement
It’s the news South West theatre-goers have been waiting for after 17 months of closure. The Bristol Hippodrome has announced its reopening date as Wednesday 25 August 2021 and with the world premiere production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
The much-loved story and musical has been reimagined, using the latest theatrical innovations. Audiences wishing to see the show should book soon to secure tickets. The theatre will be ensuring a range of precautions to keep audience members safe as part of See it Safely.
The theatre will be opening to full capacity, meaning audiences will not be socially distanced. The venue will be strongly encouraging people to wear face coverings and if not fully vaccinated to take regular lateral-flow or PCR tests.
Cash will no longer be taken at the theatre, as it has become a cashless venue and now operates a contactless ticketing system. E-tickets will be sent to audience members within two weeks of their performance, with tickets remaining valid for further exchanges or refunds should performances be suspended.
“Finally the time has come for us to re-emerge from quite a dark period for us all,” Ben Phillips, The Bristol Hippodromes Theatre Director says.
“I am so thrilled that once again my fabulous team will be able to welcome our valued customers back to our fantastic venue in the heart of this amazing city to enjoy world-class entertainment once again. To be hosting the world premiere of Beauty and the Beast for Disney is a huge endorsement of just how highly regarded we are as a regional venue with an amazing team, I am so proud.”
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be heralding the opening of the theatre with its run from 25 August until 18 September 2021.
The forthcoming season includes brilliant shows including Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Heathers the Musical and Grease.
