Bristol Hippodrome Seats for Sale as Historic Theatre Upgrades Auditorium Seating
The Bristol Hippodrome is ushering in a new era for its impressive Victorian auditorium by replacing its 2000 plush seats.
It’s fair to say the building has seen plenty of its own drama through the decades. It somehow survived the Blitz when everything around her was flattened, as well as a devastating fire that destroyed the stage and backstage areas in 1948.
In a genius move that will not only raise money for charity, but save some serious refuse and transport bills, the theatre will be selling off the seats to members of the public.
“This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Bristol Hippodrome history that may also hold some very special memories for you or a loved one,” says Jenny Hutchinson, General Manager at the theatre.
Seats will be sold on a first come first serve basis, but will require collection during the week commencing 21 August 2017.
A donation from the seats sale will go to a local Bristol based charity which will be selected from those nominated by the new seat owners.
