Bristol Improv Theatre Officially Launches Friends Scheme
Bristol Improv Theatre, will be officially launching its new Friends Scheme this month. The scheme was set up and soft launched earlier this year as part of the non-profit company’s journey to becoming a charity.
The company, through its work, aims to support more people into improv who may not have been able to do so otherwise. Those signing up to the scheme can make regular monthly donations of £5, £10, £15 or £20.
Bristol Improv Theatre is the first dedicated improv theatre in the UK. It’s grown into an important part of the Bristol theatre scene, giving audiences not only a chance to watch live theatre, but also take part in workshops.
The company says of its supporters: ‘Quite a few have been donating throughout the pandemic to keep us going and we cannot thank them enough for the continued support. Whilst we are in the process of applying to become a charity, we want to facilitate these donations in a more permanent way going forward via the Friends Scheme.
‘The Friends Scheme is a philanthropic initiative for our theatre during these difficult times for the arts and theatre industry whilst returning to normal after the pandemic. We are a non-profit limited company with charitable aims and this scheme would make a fantastic start for our journey on becoming a charity.’
