Edward Bourne’s Sketchbook – Alma Tavern Bristol

Described as a ‘fast feast of comedy sketches from Edward Bourne’s Sketchbook’, this one-person show will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre in Bristol this month.

“Have you ever felt like a hollow sim in a glitchy video game, taking time time to self-narrate your moves in marvellous dismay?” the show questions? The answer is tied up in what sounds like a fever dream of voiceover fantasies, miss-steps in romantic courtship, a tutor on trial, a mastermind appearance that takes the mickey, and a terrifying(ly awkward) T-Rex impersonation.

Edward Bourne, is a 30-year-old voiceover artist and illustrator. He was inspired by the work of character monologists such as Ruth Draper and Joyce Grenfell, with this one-hour character sketch show. The Bristol University graduate’s previous show was met with five-star reviews and described by critics as a ‘rip-roaring comedy epic’.

Edward Bourne’s Sketchbook will be at the Alma Tavern and Theatre on Thursday 12 and 26 of January 2023.
