A Life in Tandem 1532 Performing Arts Centre

From Bristol to Beijing on a tandem bike – the film explores active living following a cancer diagnosis
A special screening of A Life in Tandem, will be taking place in Bristol this September.
Cancer Survivor, Luke Grenfell-Shaw, will be bringing his acclaimed documentary to 1532 Performing Arts Centre.
After the screening, Luke Grenfell-Shaw and director Mike Rumsey will be taking part in a Q&A session.
The film, which brings together family drama with a cycle adventure, explores the themes of active living following a terminal cancer diagnosis. It has an impressive 9.7 on IMDB.
After being diagnosed with Stage 4 Sarcoma at the age of 24, Luke decided to cycle over 20,000 miles from Bristol to Beijing on a tandem bike, accompanied by a collection of family, friends and strangers – many of whom were on their own
cancer journeys.
Now in remission seven years later, the film highlights how this exercise played a pivotal role throughout his cancer recovery.
“This film is about hope, about finding a way forward when things feel impossible,” Luke says.
“Even the smallest amount of exercise could make all the difference.”
