Educating Rita at the Barn Theatre Cirencester

Opening this month at Barn Theatre in Cirencester is Willy Russell’s Educating Rita. The production comes from Built by Barn and is directed by Stephen Unwin.

The classic British play follows 26-year-old Rita. She’s a working class hairdresser with dreams of breaking free from her routine life. Signing up to attend an Open University course, she meets Frank. He’s a disillusioned middle aged academic who describes himself as “an appalling teacher”.

The funny and life affirming play brings together a clash of two worlds leading to a journey of rediscovery for both of them.
