A new 7-meter sculpture by artist Luke Jerram, will be coming to Bath Assembly Rooms as part of a tour during 2025.
Helios is lit internally and combines solar imagery, sunlight and sound. It’s named after the Ancient Greek God who personifies the sun.It follows on from Jerram’s previous artworks Museum of the Moon, Gaia and Mars.
This sculpture features a sound composition that includes NASA recordings of the sun by Duncan Speakman and Sarah Anderson.
The project has been co-commissioned with the National Trust. Helios will be positioned in the Georgian Ball Room at Bath Assembly Rooms.
The event will be open on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 January and every day between 30 January – 23 February 2025
