SUMMARY:Attenborough and His Animals - The Wardrobe Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Come along to The Wardrobe Theatre this June to celebrate a century of wildlife and wisdom with Attenborough and His Animals. \nThe show returns to Bristol in honour of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. \nThe family friendly show brings to life his natural history documentaries through clowning and physical theatre. \nWhen the great man himself doesn’t show up for a live appearance with real animal guests\, two\nhapless fools decide to save the day by recreating wonderful scenes of the natural world. \nA blue whale swims through the depths and racer snakes pursue an iguana across the desert. The largest\nrange of animals you will ever see onstage. \nThe show has been created by Clough-MacRae and Jonathan Tilley of Bristol based Clownfish. \nThe pair met through training at physical theatre school École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq and discovered their shared love of David Attenborough’s documentaries. \nFeatured Image: Jacinta Oaten \n

SUMMARY:Glitch: A New Scratch Night from Uncaged Theatre - Alma Tavern Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Uncaged Theatre is hosting a new scratch night at the Alma Tavern Theatre this June. \nA comedy showcase of four plays by early-career playwrights in the South West region is on the line-up. \nIt includes: \nThe Authors’ by Jamillah Knowles\nAs Benja struggles to seduce a muse through alcohol and isolation\, their flatmates Dex and Rikki have different ideas about how they craft the narratives of their lives. Is art really pain? Does anyone care if the scripts on a foot fetishist’s subscription site are generated using AI? \nEnd of the World’ by Geraint Hughes\nA hilarious and thought-provoking Kubrick / Stoppard / Tarantino mash-up on our relationship with Artificial Intelligence. Are we all complicit in letting AI shape our cultural\, political\, and environmental landscape? Will we continue to let it displace human creativity and original thought\, or does the fight back start here? It’s a rollercoaster ride! \nThe Bus Stop’ by Patrick Large\nIt is mid-morning at a bus stop\, and two young men in their twenties from very different backgrounds find themselves sitting next to each other: one with a trust fund haircut\, and one with a love for winding up the poshos. Will they connect? Will they debate? No chance. \nGod Is Dead’ by Joe Brooks\nGod is dead\, washed up on the beach at Weston-super-Mare. It soon becomes clear that this is murder: murder most metaphysical. Detective Inspector Taylor and PC Blake are drawing up the list of suspects. They come to their prime suspect\, but can they bring the fallen angel in for questioning?
