SUMMARY:A Noise Annoys - The Wardrobe Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Jude Simpson brings an hour of uplifting playful poetry\, witty wordplay and silly songs to children in Bristol this May. \nA Noise Annoys was recently nominated for Best Kids Show at Leicester Comedy Festival early this year. \nIt’s been described by audiences as “fantastically funny”. \nShe’s performed with the much-loved Michael Rosen in the past\, who called her work “funny” and “sharp” as well as her being a “terrific performer”. \nYoungsters can expect songs celebrating peanut butter sandwiches\, tongue twisters about naming a pet badger\, alongside a lot of joy and nonsense. \n“I just want people to enjoy themselves and have a laugh together\, but if they go away feeling inspired to play with words\, then my mission is complete\,” Jude says. \nThe show\, which comes to The Wardrobe Theatre\, is aimed at children aged 5 years upwards with their families. \n

SUMMARY:Bristol Pride presents: SMOKE - The Wardrobe Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Theatre-maker Alexis Gregory is out on tour this spring with SMOKE. It’s a daring piece of theatre written by Gregory which he will also be performing. The show confronts the hardest issues facing the queer community head on. \nAlex receives an Instagram message from his boyfriend. But his boyfriend has been dead for two years. \nThe two-part show is a fast-paced thriller which follows Alex’s desperate search for the truth in the digital era. It takes him through grief\, psychosis and drug use. \nThe show is performed with the house lights up\, dispensing with theatre’s traditional ‘theatrical frame’. \nFolloing the performance\, organisation You Are Loved\, will host a curated 45 minute panel discussion. This will be unique to each city and create a safe space for collective reflection. \nFeatured Image: Tyler Kelly

SUMMARY:Notting Hell: The Greatest Love Story in the Underworld - The Wardrobe Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Wardrobe Theatre’s rom-com parody Notting Hell: The Greatest Love Story in the Underworld\, will be returning to the Old Market theatre for a four-week run this summer. \nThe hit show has had audiences asking for its return ever since its debut as the theatre’s Christmas show in 2024. \nThe original production\, a fast paced and smart alternative comedy from The Wardrobe Theatre was written and devised by the company. \nThe comedy promises audiences a “riotous” night of comedy which is “surreal\, but nice”. \nEternal pain and suffering\, never-ending torment\, ceaseless misery – falling in love isn’t always easy. When a foppishly handsome owner of a quaint bookshop falls for a jaw-droppingly gorgeous international mega-celeb\, little does he know he’ll soon find himself deep in the fiery pits of the underworld. Surrounded by horses\, hounds and facing off against the cursed spawn of Satan himself\, finding true love this summer is going to take a lot of sacrifice… human sacrifice. \nGeneral sale opens at 10am on Friday 27 February 2026
