SUMMARY:The Last Five Years - Ustinov Studios Bath
DESCRIPTION:The new production of The Last Five Years is a Built by Barn production from Barn Theatre\, Reading Rep Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath. It will star Martha Kirby as Kathy and Guy Woolf as Jamie. \nThe hit musical follows two New Yorkers in a relationship that’s lasted five years so far. The question is whether they can remain united as their lives move in different directions. \nA twisting plot sees Jamie’s side of the story start at the moment they meet. Cathy’s story starts at the end moving backwards. The pair meet once in the middle. \nIt’s a smart\, entertaining and heartfelt musical. \nDirector Hal Chambers said that he’s been longing to direct the show for over 20 years\, being a “passionate admirer” of Jason Robert Brown’s work. He called the storytelling music and emotional depth in the show “unmatched”. \n“The narrative structure\, with Cathy moving backwards through time and Jamie forwards\, creates a compelling theatrical puzzle reminiscent of a Christopher Nolan film\,” he says. \n“It feels like a haunting memory play – dreamlike\, poetic\, and full of magical realism. Our production will lean into that\, using bold imagery and movement to explore the ghosts of a relationship and the raw beauty of love and heartbreak. The music is breath-taking – joyful\, witty\, devastating – and I can’t wait to bring it to life with our cast. Performed in intimate venues\, our vision promises a deeply personal and emotionally resonant Last Five Years that captures the show’s unique intimacy and power.” \nUstinov Studio\, Theatre Royal Bath 25 November – 03 January 2026

SUMMARY:Dom Joly Headlines Riot Act Cabaret Club Night at The Loco Klub
DESCRIPTION:Dom Joly is headlining a night of cabaret madness at The Loco Klub this month. \nHe’s the iconic comedian and prankster behind Trigger Happy TV\, who changed the lexicon around receiving mobile phone calls forever. \nWe’ve been to previous shows he’s performed in Bristol and were left near asphyxiated with laughter. \nJoining him for top billing is stand up comedian Ian Stone. The Independent calls him one of the top ten stand-ups in Britain. \nWelsh comedian Mel Owen is one of the most exciting new comedy talents on the rise. With a sell-out 5 star Edinburgh Fringe stint behind her\, she will be exploring modern femininity. \nDescribed as ‘Fiery\, electrifying and Welsh as f*ck’\, reigning champion of the prestigious Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam\, Georgia Griffiths deep dives into the raw experiences of love\, loss\, class and connection to turn real life into art that resonates. \nLocal Clowning hero Alistair Aitcheson\, whose innovative blend of clowning with modern tech is breaking new ground in the cabaret world. An award-winning game developer gone rogue in a red nose\, Alistair blends the absurd\, the hilarious and the downright outrageous as he asks you the audience to control the action onstage. What could possibly go wrong? \nAnd RIOT ACT Instigators Sam Riot and Stephen Bisland raise their tins of Thatchers once more to host a fast-growing Bristolian crowd favourite open mic\, with 3min slots available on the door to practitioners of all performance styles. \nQueen of Bristol Sound\, DJ Queen Bee\, will be taking to the turntable to close the show. Expect a mash-up of Reggae\, Afro Beat\, Rare Groove\, Funk and Dancehall.

SUMMARY:Moulin Scrooge at The Wardrobe Theatre for Christmas

Everyone\, that is\, except stuffy old Ebby Scrooge – a greedy\, hateful miser who detests merriment. But when some spooky ghosts push his buttons\, can-can Scrooge find love and learn the true meaning of a jolly winter festival before his soul is doomed forever? \nThe Wardrobe Theatre is one of the best venues for some festive shows for grown-ups\, having previously staged Notting Hell\, The Good\, The Bad & The Coyote Ugly\, MDH: Puppets Do A Movie\, Reservoir Mogs\, Rocky Shock Horror\, Oedipuss In Boots and Goldilock\, Stock & Three Smoking Bears.

SUMMARY:Terrys: An American Tragedy About Cars\, Customers\, and Selling Cars to Customers - Alma Tavern Theatre
DESCRIPTION:It’s Memorial Day weekend in the US-of-A. The sales team at Terry’s Cars and Automobiles is preparing to honour the fallen by slashing prices on some gently used\, (mostly) American-made cars. But the pressure’s on. It also hit the Edinburgh Fringe back in the summer. \nThe theatre company are currently out on tour\, playing their final performance at the Clifton theatre on 14 November 2025. \nFor more on Brillig: https://linktr.ee/brilligtheatre

DESCRIPTION:Hit comedian comes to Tobacco Factory Theatres with his new show\nHe’s a two-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee\, a Live at the Apollo headliner and a Have I Got News for You panellist. \nIt’s Emmanuel Sonubi and he will be in Bristol this November with powerful and hilarious new show Life After Near Death. \nEmmanuel took the whole ‘die on stage’ thing a bit too literally\, once suffering from heart failure half way through a performance. If you think that’s the worst that can happen\, he then went on to suffer a stroke. \nHis new show is described as candid and moving\, offering a surprisingly funny reflection on resilience and recovery. \n\n“I can’t wait to bring this new show on tour! Life After Near Death is a special one for me – it’s personal\, it’s raw\, but most importantly\, it’s funny\,” Emmanuel says. \n“After an amazing time at the Edinburgh Fringe\, across Europe\, and in New York\, I’m buzzing to take this to audiences across the UK. Get ready for big laughs and a few surprises along the way.” \nFor more information about Emmanuel Sonubi\, visit: www.emmanuelstandup.com \nBristol booking details below

SUMMARY:Bad Lads at Tobacco Factory Theatres
DESCRIPTION:Graeae Theatre Company will be bringing their latest production – Bad Lads by Mike Kenny – to Tobacco Factory Theatres this October. \nThe play has been created from the testimonies of former inmates at Medomsley Youth Detention Centre in County Durham in the 1980s. \nThe prison was used to incarcerate young men who had been involved in petty crime. But what happened inside the walls was much worse. \nThe play gives voice to a group of men who have been unheard in the past and who had their lives wrecked because of a piece of government policy that many would argue was ineffective\, disproportionate and lastingly detrimental. \nMike Kenny’s play uncovers the truth behind what happened to these young men\, revealing how it still impacts their lives some forty years after the events and looks at a system that failed these working-class men. At a time when the cry for accountability is louder than ever; Bad Lads demands remembrance and calls for justice. \nAll performances will integrate British Sign Language (BSL)\, audio description\, creative captions and will be presented in a relaxed environment. \nBooking details below

SUMMARY:The Last Five Years - Barn Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The new production of The Last Five Years is a Built by Barn production from Barn Theatre\, Reading Rep Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath. It will star Martha Kirby as Kathy and Guy Woolf as Jamie. \n\nThe hit musical follows two New Yorkers in a relationship that’s lasted five years so far. Performed in intimate venues\, our vision promises a deeply personal and emotionally resonant Last Five Years that captures the show’s unique intimacy and power.”
