SUMMARY:CRIPtic Arts: The Acts - The Weston Studio
DESCRIPTION:CRIPtic Arts presents… The Acts! Coming to Bristol Old Vic on 23 and 24 January 2026. \nThe Acts is a gathering of four daring new works from some of the UK’s most exciting disabled theatre makers. \nCaitlin Magnall-Kearns weaves a love story of desire\, guilt\, and ageing with tender humour in The Ache of It. \nKathrine Payne’s dark comedy body job follows two lovers as they collide and unravel\, exploring the growing phenomenon of lonely deaths in the UK and the tangled realities of shame\, labour and love. \nTatum Swithenbank conjures REALMS\, a spell-like journey through folklore\, disability\, and magick. \nSO SHA  invites us into Pruu the Pidj\, a music-led ritual about survival\, softness\, and finding home in unlikely places. \nIn a cultural moment that asks disabled artists to fit into neat boxes\, The Acts asks what happens when we refuse. When we choose mess\, ritual\, pleasure\, grief\, humour\, and grit. When we make art on our own terms. \nCRIPtic Arts: The Acts has Captioned\, Relaxed and BSL performances. \nFeatured Image Artwork by Rachel Gadsden

SUMMARY:Living Spit Beauty and the Beast - Tobacco Factory Theatres
DESCRIPTION:As North-Somerset based\, Two-Person Comedy Theatre Companies go\, Living Spit are widely known as being one of the most physically attractive to ever grace the British stage. \nHowever\, in this tale as old as time\, one of them will be forced to portray a hideous\, foul-tempered beast. \nBut which one will it be?   \nThis is a re-worked\, monstrously-musical\, Disney-defying version of this classic French tale about what it means to be truly beautiful in the 18th century.

SUMMARY:EXPÖSED by Baby Lamb Productions - Alma Tavern Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Fashion designer extraordinaire “Ze Emperor” is on a ruthless rise to the top of Berlin’s fashion scene\, but when his latest collection falls flat\, he is in desperate need of something new. \nRumours of a cutting-edge fabric\, spearheaded by an innovative Parisian duo\, may be just what Ze Emperor needs to save his reputation and claw his way back to global fashion domination! \nFeaturing larger-than-life characters\, a feel-good soundtrack and lots of silly jokes\, Baby Lamb Productions brings you a tongue-in-cheek adaptation of The Emperor’s New Clothes\, transplanted to the dog-eat-dog world of 21st century high fashion. \nFollowing sell-out runs at the Bread & Roses Theatre and The Canal Cafe Theatre\, and after becoming OFFIE-finalists for the latter\, Baby Lamb Productions is thrilled to bring this “highly charged razzmatazz production” (Broadway Baby) to a new audience.

SUMMARY:How Do You Sleep At Night - Weston Studio of Bristol Old Vic
DESCRIPTION:It’s 3am and you’re wide awake. Your mind is spinning – exam results\, unread texts\, crushes\, capitalism\, that thing you said in Year 9. Homework’s due. The planet’s burning. Someone out there is sleeping soundly. How? \nHow Do You Sleep At Night? dives into the quiet (or not-so-quiet) hours before bed to explore everything that keeps us up – a late-night reckoning with the petty\, the political\, and the personal. With humour\, honesty\, and a lot of tossing and turning\, this show follows a group of restless young people in pursuit of something that should be simple: a good night’s sleep. \nIt’s the latest show from Bristol Old Vic’s Young Company\, devised by the company and directed by Paige Stevens.

SUMMARY:Lost Atoms - Bristol Old Vic
DESCRIPTION:Lost Atoms takes a wild ride through Jess and Robbie’s recollection of their relationship. \nBoth funny and heartbreaking\, it explores how love shapes our lives and how we remember it. \nA chance meeting\, some disastrous dates\, an extraordinary transformative love. It’s the stuff of fairy tales. Or is it? \nTogether they scale the soaring highs and crushing lows\, relive the beats of connection\, the moments of loss. But are their stories the same? And can their memories be trusted? \nFeatured Image: Tristram Kenton

SUMMARY:Tales From The Wasteland: Post-Apocalyptic Improv at Spielman Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Tales From The Wasteland is an improvised post-apocalyptic adventure comedy. Taking a single suggestion from the audience\, the cast will create an entire narrative driven show with no pre-prepared characters\, story or dialogue. \n\nAudiences should expect raiders\, mutants and violence over scarce resources in this absurd dark comedy. It’s inspired by other cultural offerings in the genre\, including Mad Max\, The Last of Us and Fallout. \n

SUMMARY:A Two Woman Hamlet - Wickham Theatre
DESCRIPTION:It’s Hamlet\, but not as you know it. \n\n\nTwo women (and a skull) take on Shakespeare’s well-known tragedy in just 60 minutes\, in a spectacularly fun and surprisingly moving theatrical event. \nMara Sherman\, who directed the original production in 2018\, describes her motivation as not just giving women an opportunity to play great roles such as Hamlet and Claudius\, but giving these characters the opportunity to be played by women. \nFollowing the critical success of past productions at the Capital Fringe (Washington\, DC\, 2018) and Edinburgh Fringe (2022)\, we developed a fresh take on this fun\, fast-paced\, and irreverent adaptation for a sold-out run at Colchester’s Lakeside Theatre in March 2025. \nWe’re thrilled to be bringing the show to the Wickham after touring to Camden Fringe and Colchester Fringe earlier this year! \nWe recommend that this show appropriate for ages 14+ \n

SUMMARY:Milo Edwards: How Revolting! Sorry To Offend at The Gaffe Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Milo Edwards will be in Bristol this December with his show How Revolting! Sorry to Offend. \nHe’s noticed that some people seem to think that he’s posh. But he isn’t posh\, unless you’re asking his brother. Milo is from Essex. He once got a temporary tattoo on his arse.In How Revolting! Sorry to Offend\, Milo is answering the salient questions of modern British life\, such as: Who are the posh and what are they up to? Why can’t Danny Dyer and Boris Johnson fulfil their true destinies? And\, under what circumstances can a man reasonably be expected to learn Dutch? \nAgainst a backdrop of a Britain in an advanced state of decay\, a country where the post might arrive every other day and where visiting your dentist involves a day trip and sandwiches\, Milo asks: it’s a revolting state of affairs but are we really offended? \nFind out why spite might be the answer\, why owning an air fryer is one of the few discernible social identities left and why the Falklands War was the last and truest expression of Britishness. \nFeatured Image: Joshua Peroti

SUMMARY:The Last Five Years - Ustinov Studios Bath
DESCRIPTION:The new production of The Last Five Years is a Built by Barn production from Barn Theatre\, Reading Rep Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath. It will star Martha Kirby as Kathy and Guy Woolf as Jamie. \nThe hit musical follows two New Yorkers in a relationship that’s lasted five years so far. The question is whether they can remain united as their lives move in different directions. \nA twisting plot sees Jamie’s side of the story start at the moment they meet. Cathy’s story starts at the end moving backwards. The pair meet once in the middle. \nIt’s a smart\, entertaining and heartfelt musical. \nDirector Hal Chambers said that he’s been longing to direct the show for over 20 years\, being a “passionate admirer” of Jason Robert Brown’s work. He called the storytelling music and emotional depth in the show “unmatched”. \n“The narrative structure\, with Cathy moving backwards through time and Jamie forwards\, creates a compelling theatrical puzzle reminiscent of a Christopher Nolan film\,” he says. \n“It feels like a haunting memory play – dreamlike\, poetic\, and full of magical realism. Our production will lean into that\, using bold imagery and movement to explore the ghosts of a relationship and the raw beauty of love and heartbreak. The music is breath-taking – joyful\, witty\, devastating – and I can’t wait to bring it to life with our cast. Performed in intimate venues\, our vision promises a deeply personal and emotionally resonant Last Five Years that captures the show’s unique intimacy and power.” \nUstinov Studio\, Theatre Royal Bath 25 November – 03 January 2026
