Hairspray The Musical UK Tour Comes To Bristol Hippodrome
Popular musical Hairspray, will be at The Bristol Hippodrome this spring as part of a 30 venue UK tour.
The hit comedy show is based on the original 1988 film which featured Ricki Lake and Divine. Set in Baltimore in 1962, Tracy Turnblad played by newcomer Rebecca Mendoza, is determined to dance her way onto a TV dance show despite being plus sized.
She uses her fame to fight for equality against a backdrop of segregation and racial discrimination.
Tour casting also includes comedian Norman Pace, Brenda Edwards as Motormouth Maybelle and Layton Williams as Seaweed.
The show is at The Bristol Hippodrome from Monday 05 – Saturday 10 March 2018
