Right of Way Comes to The Wardrobe Theatre Bristol
New show inspired by South West coastal walk comes to Bristol this March
The world premiere of Right of Way, will be going out on a South West tour this March, coming to The Wardrobe Theatre along the way.
It’s written and performed by Beth Bowden and produced by Susannah Bramwell.
Bowden was inspired to write the play whilst walking the South West Coast Path.
Using lyrical movement and projections of the Coast Path, the piece explores our intimate connection with the coastline, bodies of water and our heritage.
The design also encompasses accessibility, with creative captioning part of the video design.
Right of Way is described as an autobiographical reflection on disability, chronic illness and being a Young Carer.
‘Half submerged in a cramped bathtub, and flooded by her grief, Beth decides to walk the South West Coast Path – in choosing to walk, grow, and to reclaim space, she finds radical joy.’
Right of Way will be at The Wardrobe Theatre on 28 March 2024
