The Garden Theatre at Windmill Hill City Farm Launches
A beautiful new outdoor theatre has launched in Bristol this week, at Windmill Hill City Farm.
The Garden Theatre is an outdoor space with curved, tiered wooden seating. The bamboo decked stage space slightly raised. It sits surrounded by trees, nature and children’s play spaces and equipment.
It’s an entirely new type of venue in Bristol. The Garden Theatre aims to create a ‘relaxed’ space for the local community. A programme of live arts including music, comedy, workshops and theatre will be taking place throughout the year.
The lovely space feels welcoming and laid back, making it accessible for diverse audiences. The clever design makes it feel very natural, blending in perfectly with the land around it.
By day, it puts theatre right into the heart of children’s play, inspiring young imaginations and making it feel like a world in which they can belong.
