Tobacco Factory Theatres Get Involved Comes to Life On Stage
Tobacco Factory Theatres Get Involved:
In January this year, Tobacco Factory Theatres launched new project, Get On Stage, a weekly company giving adults the opportunity to learn performance skills and devise new theatre.
Twenty people took part over 12 weeks in sessions lead by the theatre’s Artistic Director Mike Tweddle and assisted by director Jenny Davies.
The Things We Carry, is the result of that work. It’s a uniquely Bristolian piece which will see people from different backgrounds come together and explore the things that remind us what life’s all about.
Performances will be at The Spielman Theatre, running from Thursday 16 – Saturday 18 May.

Spark: A Festival of Art, is another new piece of work showing at the theatre next week. Tobacco Factory Theatres, has been running a Young Producers scheme. This is an exciting opportunity for young people aged between 16-25 years of age to learn about shows, event planning, marketing, programming and theatre producing.
After a year of being immersed in the Bristol theatre scene, they have created Spark, which will take place on Sunday 19 May 2019.
The night will showcase brand new work from young artists and makers from across Bristol, with performances taking place across three spaces at Tobacco Factory Theatres. Expect stand-up comedy, theatre, dance, film and performance art.
