Venus in Fur Alma Tavern Theatre
Schoolhouse Productions are bringing David Ives’ Venus in Fur, to the Alma Tavern Theatre this September.
Enigmatic actress Vanda, arrives hours late and unannounced to audition for an adaptation of an erotic 19th Century novel – Venus in Fur – determined to win the role.
Thomas, who has wrapped up auditions is less than impressed, but her performance turns the session into a ‘steamy tango for dominance’ between the pair.
Venus in Fur marks the tenth production of the Alma’s in-house company – Schoolhouse Productions.
The company have become renown for bringing intimate modern classics to the popular Clifton venue.
This production is the first to be directed by Ben Nash, one of the graduates from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s Directing MA.
The show runs at approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes including an interval. It’s recommended for ages 16 years upwards. Under 14s will not be admitted to this show.
Venus in Fur will be at the Alma Tavern and Theatre from 13 – 17 September 2022
