Vulnerable Voices, coming to The Loco Klub this May, is the play version of Owen B Lewis’ novel of the same name.
Current Bristol resident Lewis, was previously a support worker for adults with learning difficulties and mental health support needs prior to becoming a writer.
The inspiration for the fictional Vulnerable Voices, comes from his lived experiences here. Owen has even returned this year to the original hub to help support a campaign which would have seen the centre closed by the local council to disabled people forever.
The show follows Ellis, a pizza delivery boy who cares for ex-girlfriend Jessica. He finds himself opening up about what happened to him after she broke up with him during his time volunteering and met Nathan.
