Wicked Musical Breaks Bristol Hippodrome Box Office Records
Musical sensation Wicked, broke box office records at The Bristol Hippodrome last week with the highest grossing week of performances in the theatre’s history.
Almost 70,000 people watched the musical last week resulting in £820,000 of ticket sales over just seven days.
By the end of its run on Saturday 03 March, more than 70,000 people will have flocked to the theatre with remaining ticket availability low.
“We are incredibly proud of the reaction to Wicked at The Bristol Hippodrome and feel truly privileged to showcase such a spectacular production,” Jenny Hutchinson, Theatre Director at The Bristol Hippodrome said.
“This show is testament to the strength of live theatre and we are thrilled there is so much affection for Wicked from our local audiences. We are delighted with the show’s success, and very much hope to welcome Wicked back to the Bristol Hippodrome in the future.”
Wicked is the 15th longest running show in the West End, having spent twelve years at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre.
It’s based on Gregory Maguire’s best-selling novel, featuring the characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The touring cast features Amy Ross as Elphaba, Helen Woolf as Glinda and Aaron Sidwell as Fiyero.
