A Christmas Carol at Arnos Vale Cemetery by Red Rope Theatre
This winter, Red Rope Theatre returns to the Anglican Chapel in Arnos Vale Cemetery, with a new production of A Christmas Carol.
The imposing chapel set on the hill overlooking the quiet chill on a winter’s night is the perfect setting for the theatre company, who specialise in creating beautifully macabre and haunting productions from some of the most famous works of Gothic literature.
Previous years have seen the company bring an outstanding production of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, as well as taut horror thriller Turn of the Screw.
This year, the company’s Artistic Director Matt Grinter, has adapted the much-loved A Christmas Carol, for three actors.
Poverty, disease, and hunger are three things that Ebenezer Scrooge has little concern for. The rich are indulgent, the poor are dying around them. Three spirits will come to visit… you can’t escape the truth when it’s haunting you.”
The show is recommended for an audience of 14 years upwards due to its darker themes and content.
A Christmas Carol will be Arnos Vale Cemetery from 17 November – 02 December 2022.
