Absolute Bowie at O2 Academy Bristol

Flamboyant costumes and the perfect set list hails David Bowie tribute band

With January marking both the birthday and death anniversary of David Bowie, show Absolute Bowie arrived at the O2 Academy in Bristol at just the right time.

The two-act set list takes you through each era of the singer’s life with big hits and costume changes.

Coming in with strong opener The Man Who Sold The World, we were taken through songs that included Suffragette City, Changes, The Jean Genie, All the Young Dudes, Star Man, Life on Mars?, Ashes to Ashes, China Girl, Space Oddity, Heroes and Rebel Rebel.

John O’Neill as David Bowie has great attention to detail, from the make-up and costuming to Bowie’s mannerisms and vocal style. The band were fabulous, including the drummer who stepped in to cover with the band for the first time ever.

This wasn’t supposed to be an event to review, but, the hardcore David Bowie fan with us loved it so much that it was worth a mention.
