As You Like It Bristol Shakespeare Festival 2022
Apricity Theatre are bringing another fresh new Shakespeare adaptation to the stage, this time as part of Bristol Shakespeare Festival.
The company will be bringing an all-woman and non-binary cast to The Elmgrove Centre this summer, with their production of As You Like It.
Apricity Theatre say they their adaptation is: ‘breathing queer joy,live original songs,and the celebration of human nature into this much-loved classic.’
They’ve teamed up with Echogenic’s Finn MacNeil, to adapt original songs directly from the play.
Arts Council Funding will enable them to deliver Shakespeare and Voice workshops for local performers and directors, giving them the confidence to make the Bard’s words their own.
As You Like It is adapted and directed by Matilda Dickinson, with assistant director CJ Turner-McMullan and with sound design by Finn MacNeil.
As You Like It will be at The Elmgrove Centre on Friday 15 – Saturday 16 July 2022
