Boogie Nachts Theatre Brings Rishikesh to Alma Tavern Theatre
Politically charged psychological thriller has ticket sales flying already
A horror-drama which explores women’s activism and how far they will go to fight for their beliefs, comes to the Alma Tavern Theatre next month.
Rishikesh, is described as a ‘politically-charged horror play’ which also poignantly explores the beliefs and scars driving women to take action.
The play is written by Vince Stadon and directed by Jacky Crosher. It’s being staged by Bristol-based company Boogie Nachts Theatre.
Set against the backdrop of the infamous 1982 snow blizzard in the UK, four women from the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp have broken into a nuclear reactor and stolen radioactive material. The action is a statement against nuclear proliferation. They know what they have done will lead to their own radiation poisoning and death.
The arrival of a mysterious woman during the night who has an unsettling knowledge of their pasts and plans leads to a gripping atmosphere in this politically charged psychological thriller.
Rishikesh will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre from 05 – 09 November 2024
