Bristol International Theatre Workshop Stages Red in Bristol
John Logan’s modern classic will be playing in Clifton this month
Bristol International Theatre Workshop are bringing Red by John Logan to the Alma Tavern Theatre this month.
The Tony Award-winning and Olivier Award nominated two-hander play, tells the story of American abstract painter Mark Rothko and his Seagram Murals.
The play is set in Rothko’s Lower Manhattan studio around 1958-1959. Rothko and his young assistant mix paint, build frames and listen to music whilst setting about the iconic paintings.
Logan’s 2009 modern classic play is described as a ‘tour de force’ account of one of the 20th Century’s greatest artists.
Red will be on at the Alma Tavern Theatre from 24 – 27 June 2024
