British Skating Legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to Star in Cinderella at The Bristol Hippodrome 2016
The Bristol Hippodrome has just announced exciting pantomime casting news. British skating veterans Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will star as the Fairy Godparents in the theatre’s 2016 pantomine.
The pair became international stars after becoming the highest scoring figure skaters of all time in the Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympics. Their performance to Ravel’s Bolero earned them a gold medal.
Swapping their ice skates for inline skates for the theatre stage, Jayne Torvill says: “This will be our first visit to The Bristol Hippodrome and we are very much looking forward to performing in the city. We’re already working on some brand new choreography which we hope will bring a whole lot more excitement to the wonderful Cinderella story and reworking some old favourites too.”
More casting for the show is yet to be announced, but it will be coming with the usual glitterfest sets and real Shetland ponies.
