Two Christmas shows for the Weston Super Mare theatre this year

The Front Room Theatre in Weston Super Mare, is bringing two new and original in-house shows to its stage this Christmas. The fringe theatre has gone from strength – to strength since opening in an empty pizza unit close to the seafront just under two years ago. It attracts a range of touring fringe hits to the town, becoming an important part of Weston Super Mare’s cultural offer.

The two new shows will offer a hit of Christmas theatre to a wide age range of theatre-goers, from tots to adults. To ensure the shows are as accessible as possible, both are running on a Pay What You Decide offer.

Let There Be Mud at Front Room Weston Super Mare

Family show – Let There Be Mud – is full of all the silly fun and storytelling you would expect about a rogue time-travelling scientist from the past.

A secret time portal has allowed a Victorian scientist to travel through time to collect the mud of eternal life from Weston Beach.

The result is that the Victorian era is lasting much longer. Can the Victorians be stopped before our civil liberties are eroded and child labour returns?

The family friendly story warns of the dangers about harping back to the ‘good old days’.

Yara In The Wild Wood at Front Room Weston Super Mare

The theatre’s evening show – Yara In The Wild Wood, is aimed at audiences aged 14 years upwards. It’s a tale of growing up, getting wiser and making unexpected friends.

Yara is wild and free. She’s lived in the woods for as long as she can remember, only ever relying on herself. But what’s out there prowling in the shadows and howling at the moon? Yara must learn to face up to new challenges and the prospect of looking after more than just herself.
