Circomedia Summer Spectacular Takes Place This Month

The event will be a dazzling celebration of contemporary circus and physical theatre

Audiences are invited to come along and experience a dazzling evening of live performance and cabaret at Bristol’s acclaimed circus school Circomedia.

The event is promising a line-up of live performance, aerial work, acrobatics and physical theatre from the next generation of contemporary circus artists.

It’s taking place in order to raise funds to enable Circomedia to continue training emerging artists.

The night will be compared by international performer Rod Laver, who will also be attempting to break his own Guinness World Record from Beijing in 2013.

“This is going to be such a joyful night, full of incredible talent, energy and celebration,” Rod says.

“We want people to come along, have a brilliant evening, experience the fantastic creativity of our community, and help support the future of contemporary circus in the UK at the same time.”

The full line-up of acts is still being announced, but already confirmed for the event is:

• Dynamic acrobatics from Welsh duo and Circomedia graduates Emba Wimbush and Ieuan Waller
• Ascension, an emotionally charged aerial hoop performance by Emba in Motion
• Aerial rope artistry from Circomedia diploma student Paddy Riddle
• A spectacular large-scale club juggling act choreographed by Gandini Juggling performer and Circomedia Head of Juggling Owen Reynolds
• A silent-movie-inspired slapstick performance created by Circomedia’s degree students for Slapstick Festival 2026
• Performances and walk-about entertainment from Circomedia’s talented student cohort

As well as performance, there will be a live prize draw and raffle.

Audience members are encouraged to wear summer colours and circus sparkles.
