An Adequate Abridgement of Boarding School Life as a Homo

Choir Boy Productions brings Ned Blackburn’s An Adequate Abridgement of Boarding School Life as a Homo, to the Alma Tavern Theatre.

The show picked up a Bobby award during its sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe last year.

It’s now on a tour, calling into the Clifton theatre this May.

The show follows the life of a young gay man in his last year of a rather strict boarding school.

Britney-loving Johnny ambles through his daily life, failing to fit into the school’s mould.

With dreams of being a gay-tragedy, everything changes when he meets charming and confident rugby lad Harry.

The show blends comedy with shame as it tells the story of a queer young man navigating masculinity, Grindr and an institution ‘rife with shame’.

It aims to create a space for queer and non-queer audience members to reflect upon their time at school and how they had to navigate their own identity within the environment.

Directed by Meg Bowron and Josh Stainer
