Forward by Marley Starkey-Joyner Comes to Bristol
New play exploring grief through humour and poignant moments comes to Clifton theatre
A brand new play written and directed by Marley Starkey-Joyner, will be coming to the Alma Tavern Theatre this October.
Forward, explores themes around friendship, losing someone as well as yourself and celebrating the joys of being alive.
The play was first performed at The Mission Theatre as part of Bath’s Sparkfest Theatre Festival in 2023. It will now be getting its Bristol debut at the Alma Tavern Theatre before heading to the Front Room in Weston Super Mare.
Amina is a young woman who has recently died and turned into a ghost. She finds herself trapped in her old apartment with Freja.
It’s Freja’s depressed tears which start to extinguish Amina’s fiery nature, seeing the two incompatible characters discovering traits about themselves they thought were long lost.
Forward will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre 22 -24 October 2024 and Front Room on 31 October 2024
