Hairspray The Musical Returns to the Bristol Hippodrome:
Hit musical Hairspray, makes a welcome return to The Bristol Hippodrome next year as part of a brand new UK and Ireland tour.
It will be brightening up the dull new year of 2021, as it plays post pantomime from Monday 18 – Saturday 23 January.
The much-loved comedy musical, based on the 1988 film which starred Divine and Ricki Lake, features music and lyrics from Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, direction by Paul Kerryson and choreography by Drew McOnie.
The show is set in 1962 against the background of racism and civil rights action, telling of the rise to fame of Tracy Turnblad, who has set her heart on becoming a dancer on national TV show.
