Jayde Adams Joins Bristol Old Vic Treasure Island Cast
First casting announced for Bristol Old Vic Christmas show
Bristolian Actor-Comedian Jayde Adams, will be taking to the stage of Bristol Old Vic this Christmas. The production will mark her first professional stage debut. This year’s festive show is Treasure Island: A New Musical Adventure.
“After years of banging on their doors, Bristol Old Vic have finally let me on stage – and I couldn’t be prouder that my debut is happening at a theatre I’ve loved my whole life,” she says.
Jade took part in the Bristol Old Vic Young Company programme as a child.
“I’ve been staring at that building since I could walk, and now I get to perform in it this Christmas,” she adds.
“Stand-up always felt like a stepping stone to my real goal: acting on stage.”
Jade will be playing Benita Gunn, Jim Hawkin’s mother.
Treasure Island: A New Musical Adventure, is an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s much-loved story, with book and lyrics by Jake Brunger. The music and lyrics are by Pippa Cleary with the show directed by Paul Foster. More casting is due to be announced soon.
The production is described as one of ‘friendship, hope and reaching for dreams’. Expect a show full of heart with big musical numbers.
