Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds – The Spirit of Man Tour 2025 in Cardiff

The thrilling musical adventure returned to Cardiff

Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds is currently out on a major UK and Ireland arena tour, bringing Martians to life in a thrilling piece of musical drama.

The 70’s released album is based on H. G. Wells’ sci-fi novel published in 1898. This week it called into the Utilita Arena Cardiff for two sell-out performances.

Jeff Wayne returns to conduct with a cast in that included Max George as Pastor Nathaniel, Maisie Smith as Beth, Charlie Simpson as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist, Anna-Marie Wayne as Carrie and Nathan James as The Voice of Humanity. Liam Neeson features in 3D holography as The Journalist, an effect that works well.

This run of shows has been called The Spirit of Man Tour, with a strong emphasis on peace come the end.

The show has grown and evolved since its original release, with a multi-media experience, animation and moving sets alongside special effects, singing and an orchestra and band.

It’s an incredible theatrical event which is also complimented with an Immersive Experience in London, one that is definitely worth going to.

The audience leapt to their feet come the end with the show earning a well deserved standing ovation.
