Les Dennis Hosts Slapstick Festival Tribute to Barry Cryer

A special Slapstick Festival tribute will be taking place at the Redgrave Theatre this month, in honor of writer, comedian and actor Barry Cryer.

Cryer was a Patron and regular guest at Slapstick’s annual festival of silent and vintage screen comedy each year.

The event – Barry Cryer: A Tribute With a Little Help from His Friends, will be hosted by his longtime friend and collaborator Les Dennis.

The show was originally going to be an audience with the man himself, but owing to his death in January this year, the afternoon will instead celebrate and remember the 60 years he spent entertaining audiences.

Barry Cryer with Colin Sell and Graeme Garden

Les Dennis will be joined by Barry Cryer’s son Bob Cryer, as well as his I’m Sorry I haven’t a Clue colleagues Graeme Garden and Colin Sell.

The event – which will be taking place four days after what should have been the star’s 87th birthday – will be at the Redgrave Theatre in Bristol on Sunday 27 March at 3.30pm.
