LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Rebel Love Wedding Fair Bristol Date Approaches
It’s just over a week until the event comes to The Station in central Bristol
It’s just over a week until an inclusive wedding fair hits Bristol, promising to be a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies.
The Rebel Love Wedding Fair – created by Rebel Love Directory – aims to be an event where love is celebrated with inclusivity at its heart.
All of the wedding vendors and suppliers taking part will be LGBTQIA+-owned or supporters.
“We built the Rebel Love Directory, a home for amazing LGBTQ+ wedding vendors and allies,” says Steff Clements, one of the co-founders of Rebel Love Directory.
They said: “It’s been fantastic seeing couples find inclusive vendors for their wedding day, but we’ve heard countless horror stories from our LGBTQ+ clients about traditional fairs. From being mistaken for relatives to facing micro-aggressions, it was clear something had to change, so here we are.”
The event will be wheelchair accessible, with both accessible and gender neutral toilets. The first hour of the fair will also be a quiet hour to make it easier for neurodivergent people.
Co-founder of Rebel Love Directory, Ells Bewley adds: “Forget the traditional stuff, this is about celebrating all kinds of love and connecting couples with vendors who get it. It’s a space where everyone feels seen, respected, and can find vendors who are actively inclusive, not just tolerant.”
The Rebel Love Wedding Fair takes place at The Station on Saturday 16 November 2024
