Melanie Martinez is just rounding off the UK run of dates for her 2024 Trilogy Tour and what a tour it is.

This week she was at the Utilita Arena Cardiff, with a set divided into three sections devoted to Cry Baby, K-12 and Portals.

Melanie Martinez is an exceptionally interesting artist. She doesn’t just write and sing, but creates a whole universe behind her albums. This translates brilliantly to the stage. If you haven’t heard of her before, K-12 is a good place to start. It’s a studio album that also comes with a full-length movie written and directed by Martinez. It’s even available to watch free on her YouTube channel.

Her alternative electro-pop sound captures the imaginations of younger audiences. Her alter-egos touch on themes that can are often taboo, important and not covered by mainstream artists.
