Musical The Last Five Years at The Station Bristol

The Last 5 Years at The Station Bristol:

The Worx Productions will be staging Jason Robert Brown’s musical The Last 5 Years at The Station in Bristol this month.

The show tells the story of author Jamie and aspiring actress Cathy who fall in love. When Jamie becomes an overnight success, their relationship is pushed to breaking point. Can the couple remain together as their fate divides them?

The narrative of the musical is one that sparks quite heated debate, as each story is told in opposite direction.

Taking the lead roles are two Bristol performers Michael and Emma Griffiths. Both are BAOS and BLOC Productions veterans, with Emma taking the 2018 Rose Bowl Award for Best Actress in a Musical as Elle Woods in BAOS’ Legally Blonde.

MD of The Worx Productions, Steve Blackmore, said: “This musical is an absolute gem and rarely performed thanks to its small cast of just two characters. To have two local performers who are also a real-life couple take on the emotional weight of this show is incredibly exciting. We’ve also got a full live band for the performances, so audiences will be able to experience the richness of this beautiful score. Funny, honest and intimate, The Last Five Years takes a bold look at one young couple’s hope that love endures the test of time.”

The Last 5 Years will run from 21-23 November at The Station on Silver St in Bristol.

Tickets are priced at £14.
