Neville Staple Band in Minehead

A tight hour of energy, hits and dance

The legendary Neville Staple was in Minehead this weekend as part of a Big Weekender which saw a line-up of ska, 2 Tone, reggae, Selectors and even included Madness.

On the final night, Neville Staple Band took to the stage for a blistering set of hits from the singer’s time in The Specials and Fun Boy Three.

Coming straight in with Gangsters, the set was an hour of raw energy. The pace didn’t let up, with a packed venue crowding the floor for Long Shot Kick De Bucket and some of that old Skinhead Moonstomping.

The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum and Ghost Town cut deep, their relevance feeling as urgent in 2025 as it did some fifty years ago.

Finally finishing with You’re Wondering Now, marked the end of the night, a sad moment for an audience who showed this musical icon how loved he still is.
