Oliver Twist at Tobacco Factory Theatres This Christmas

  • Oliver Twist opens at Tobacco Factory Theatres in Bristol next month

It’s the most wonderful time of the year on the way – that of the Christmas show at Tobacco Factory Theatres. The Christmas family show at the Southville based theatre is always an utter delight. It is always thoughtfully adapted with relevant themes that blend with magical storytelling and told through beautiful acting.

The theatre’s auditorium has previously transported us to so many locations over the years. We’ve sat on real grass for Robin Hood, been immersed in the world of The Borrowers, journeyed to the Emerald City and even seen the melting of Julian the thief in Ali Baba.

This year, the in-house production is Oliver Twist. It’s been written by Bristol playwright Adam Peck, who could write the telephone directory into a cheery festive story to warm the heart.

And if it can’t get any better, it’s being directed by the theatre’s new Artistic Director, none other than Heidi Vaughan. The theatre recently snagged Heidi from local theatrical heroes Travelling Light.

The story getting the TFT treatment this year is Oliver Twist. A 200 year story which will likely resonate strongly with 2023 theatre-going families.

There will be a range of accessible performances taking place. These are essential for making theatre accessible to people with additional access needs. They include:
