Pleading Stupidity Comes To The Wardrobe Theatre

Fast paced comedy based on ridiculous true story hits Bristol this October

Comedy ensemble Maybe You Like It, are bringing Fringe favourite Pleading Stupidity, to Bristol this October.

The show tells the true story of two Aussie boys who embarked upon a truly dire bank robbery – whilst wearing their work name tags. The crime was solved in just 8 minutes.

Chad and Brad robbed a bank on their gap year when they were bored. In court, their only defence was Pleading Stupidity.

Pleading Stupidity is told by a multi-rolling cast with high energy, fast-paced action, using verbatim speech to tell the story.

The writing and production has been created especially for younger audiences who are used to being bombarded by fast-moving social media content.

“We’ve created a show for our generation,” Co-creator Ellie Iley said. “As young people who consume content incredibly quickly, we want our entertainment to move as fast as we do.”

Producer Jake Morry added: “This is a show for people who love comedy but don’t think theatre is for them. It racks up the laughs and ramps up the tension, asking what it means to control how your story is told.”

Pleading Stupidity will be at The Wardrobe Theatre on 01 and 02 October 2024
