The Snap Gram of Dorian Gray Alma Tavern Theatre Bristol
‘In the world of social media, where image is everything, Dorian’s currency has an expiration date. Young and impossibly beautiful, he dreads the day when his boyish good looks leave him. So, when his artist friend, Basil, takes a mesmerizingly gorgeous photo of him, Dorian wishes for the image to carry the burden of age and conscience instead of himself. But, is a life free of wisdom and morality really worth living?’
A brand new and up-to-date retelling of an Oscar Wilde classic, will be coming to the Alma Tavern Theatre this October.
The Snap Gram of Dorian Gray play is a very Bristol affair, staged by creative alumni from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Ben Nash and Ellie Jay Stevens – graduates of the theatre school’s directing programme, take the directing reins with this piece of physical theatre.
The dramaturgy comes from graduate of the writing programme Truly Siskind-Weiss and will be performed by 4 Bristol actors.
The music is by composer Andy Jenks and alumni from the school’s Production Arts programme Hannah Bracegirdle
The Snap Gram of Dorian Gray will be at the Alma Tavern Theatre from 11 – 15 October 2022.
