SS Great Britain Announces Line Up for Summer Lates Series

The SS Great Britain has announced the line up for their Summer Lates Series, which will be running from June to August with a range of harbourside gigs.

The popular ship has teamed up with Coffee Club Bristol to run the event, which will also feature a range of locally sourced beer and cider as well as a BBQ with vegan options.

The full line-up is:

15 June – Iris Lyre – an indie-electronica duo from Bristol who create soulful alt-pop tracks with a live-looping set up. Likely to appeal to fans of Self Esteem, Lianne La Havas and Arlo Parks.

22 June – The Mighty Shinkickers – the West Country’s finest scrumpy-loving punk folk band. Their songs explore everything from the swamplands of Somerset to the apple famine of 1841. Fittingly, they’ve even got a few timber shivering shanties up their sleeves!

29 June – Ålesund – a Bristol-based alt pop band, Ålesund is fronted by British-Norwegian singer-songwriter Alba Torriset. Expect dreamy pop hooks, atmospheric soundscapes and ethereal vocals.

06 July – Sugarmoon – delivering a blend of blues, rock, folk and pop, Sugarmoon has appeared at Bristol’s Exchange Basement, Swansea Fringe Festival and Inglefest. Their music will delight fans of The Doors, Belle & Sebastian and The Beatles.

13 July – Santa Fe – a Bristol-based neo-soul band which fuses glistening funk and low-slung grooves with blended vocal melodies. Guaranteed to get you dancing!

20 July – Gwyd Ion and Lola’s Demo Yard – Gwyd Ion is a bilingual artist who blends soulful singing with blues and jazz-inspired guitar. His set is made up of improvisational guitar and vocals, reworked classics, and his own Welsh language songs.

20 July – Lola’s Demo Yard is the current project of musician Josh Dovey. Josh aims to emulate the best of traditional British songwriting with a contemporary lo-fi edge – resulting in soulful and intimate music.

03 August – Long Tonic – a five-piece bouncy blues band specialising in groovy riffs, knee-bending bops and overly-sentimental lyrics.

17 August – Kololo – an independent electro pop group, which blends luscious harmonies and trippy production to make an unforgettable sound of computerised groove.

Beer and cider for the Summer Lates Series will be locally sourced, and guests can also enjoy delicious food fresh from the BBQ, including a vegan option.
