Stampin’ In The Graveyard Comes To Wardrobe Theatre
The dystopian show uses silent disco headphones as it delves into AI
A piece of theatre coming to Bristol this April, will fully immerse audiences into an apocalyptic world. The audience at each show will help shape the narrative, which has multiple potential endings, as we move closer to the abyss.
Stampin’ In The Graveyard comes from London based theatre company Kiss Witness. It uses silent disco headphones to bring the audience into the story. It’s told through a blend of poetry, soundscapes and physical theatre. The set itself is created from recycled electronics with lo-fi tech aiming to keep the audience grounded in the story.
AI chatbot Rose is in a graveyard where she takes us through the ruins of a civilisation long gone. Rose is trying to piece together information about the human who had created her.
The show is described as both ‘heartbreaking and hopeful’ exploring the human need for connection.
Stampin’ In The Graveyard has met with critical acclaim following a run at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
It should find itself right at home with fresh new audiences when it comes to The Wardrobe Theatre in Old Market this April.
Aisha Ali, The Wardrobe Theatre’s Theatre Manager and Artist Development Lead called the show a “thought-provoking” piece.
“It is visually stunning with beautiful physicality from Elisabeth Gunawan and an experimental choose-your-own-adventure approach to the audience,” they said. “We are excited to present this piece in Bristol for the first time!”
Writer and performer in the show, Elisabeth Gunawan, is also founder of Kiss Witness. The company’s work has already had work staged in venues such as the Barbican Centre, Summerhall Edinburgh and the Pleasance.
Kiss Witness is bringing two shows to the city this year. As well as Stampin’ In The Graveyard, the theatre company will be coming to Tobacco Factory Theatres in May for the Bristol premier of Prayers for a Hungry Ghost.
Stampin’ in the Graveyard will be at The Wardrobe Theatre 07-08 April 2026
