The Archers: Live at 75 Comes to Bath
The celebration show features new scenes, the artistry behind the show and a sing-along to its theme tune
Everyone knows the theme tune for The Archers even if they have never listened to the show in their life. It’s the radio show that has embedded itself into the subconscious of the nation.
Now there’s a chance to be in the room where it happens with a live show celebrating 75 years of The Archers.
The show’s creators say you don’t need to have been an avid follower to enjoy it. The events will give newcomers an accessible introduction to its world whilst offering seasoned fans a looking into the artistry behind the show.
The Archers: Live at 75 is a ‘playful’ reimagining of the Ambridge Flower & Produce Show. There will be live performances created for the tour alongside on-stage interviews, conversation, gossip, audience questions and pub quiz.
There are two dates coming the Theatre Royal in Bath, with a different cast each time.
The first date is on Thursday 08 October 2026 and will feature the ‘Flower Cast’: Timothy Bentinck (David Archer), Annabelle Dowler (Kirsty Miller), Charlotte Martin (Susan Carter) and Ben Norris (Ben Archer).
The second date is Thursday 05 November 2026 and will feature the ‘Produce Cast’: Charles Collingwood (Brian Aldridge), Ryan Kelly (Jazzer McCreary), Susie Riddell (Tracy Horrobin) and Sunny Ormonde (Lilian Bellamy).
Both of the performances will be hosted by comedian and Archers superfan Angela Barnes with live sound effects from specialist Vanessa Nuttall.
“The Archers is one of the BBC’s most-loved programmes and we are tremendously proud of it as it reaches its 75th year,” Alison Hindell, Drama and Fiction Commissioner, BBC Radio 4, says.
“We hope that the live show will give fans even more of what they love, joining in the celebrations with an extra slice of Ambridge life.”
The Archers was first broadcast on 01 January 1951, quickly gaining popularity to become the world’s longest-running radio drama.
There’s been more than 20,000 episodes and it is currently the top on-demand show for listeners of all ages.
The Archers: Live at 75 will be at Bath Forum on 08 October and 05 November 2026
