The Cher Show Comes to Bristol in 2023
The Cher Show will be coming to Bristol in 2023 as part of a UK and Ireland tour, with casting now announced.
Sharing the role of Cher will be Debbie Kurup, Danielle Steers and Millie O’Connell. The story uniquely features the three actresses as Cher in three different ways throughout her long career.
The musical will cover Cher’s rise to fame, from the shy daughter of a truck driver to global super stardom. Cher will introduce the audience to the influential people she has met in her life, from family, to Sonny Bono and to costumier Bob Mackie.
The show features 35 of the singer’s biggest hits, including If I Could Turn Back Time, I Got You Babe, The Shoop Shoop Song and Believe.
Having made its debut on Broadway in 2018, this tour will be the European premiere.
The book comes from Tony and Olivier Award- winning Rick Elice, who is also behind Jersey Boys, The Addams Family and Peter and the Starcatcher. Arlene Phillips directs, with choreography from Oti Mabuse and costume design by Gabriella Slade. Set design is by Tom Rogers, musical supervision by Rich Morris, lighting design by Ben Crackness, sound design by Dan Samson, music production by Gary Hickeson, wigs, hair and make-up design by Sam Cox, associate direction by James Cousins, associate choreography by James Bennett and casting by Will Burton CDG.
The Cher Show will be at the Bristol Hippodrome from 24 – 28 January 2023
