The Life by The Worx Productions Olympus Theatre Filton

The Life Olympus Theatre Bristol:

A Bristol theatre company is staging gritty musical The Life, at Filton based Olympus Theatre next month.

The show, set in the seedy Times Square of the 1970s, has recently finished an off-West End revival.

The Worx Productions has risen to the challenge of being the first non-professional company to bring it to the stage.

“The show is a real challenge, moving quickly between up-tempo musical numbers and real drama,” The Life cast member Michael Griffiths says.

“For anyone looking for a bit of escapism this February, The Life will whisk you away for a few hours and leave you tapping your toes at the end of it.”

The musical, with a Cy Coleman score, tells the story of two lovers – Queen and Fleetwood – who are working the dangerous streets but desperate to escape to a better life. When they cross pimp Memphis, it becomes a fight for survival.

Well-known local performers to the Bristol, Bath and Weston stage include Natasha Tara Green as Queenie, Michael and Emma Griffiths, who play Fleetwood and Sonja.

The Life is running from 05-09 February 2019 at the Olympus Theatre in Filton, Bristol.

Tickets are priced at £14 and available from: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/t-worx-productions-ltd
