The Wurzels The Fleece Bristol 2023

Easter Sunday saw The Fleece in Bristol having a rush on cider, as West Country band The Wurzels, took to the stage. There’s something incredible about a band formed in the 60s which demonstrates a strong multi-generational appeal even in 2023.

Singing songs about farming, cider and the Mendips – albeit with a cheeky layer of euphemism which is quaint against current songs – the band proper entertained its high-energy audience. The Fleece rang out with banging classics from their huge back catalogue.

Kicking off with The Blackbird, the set included much-loved songs including – I’ve Got A Brand New Combine Harvester, Drink Up Thee Cider and Farmer Bill’s Cowman.

Whilst we went to see the gig and not review it, we had such a brilliant time that it was worth sharing some of the shakycam footage from the event.

The Wurzels will be back at The Fleece in December with a Christmas Show: https://thefleece.co.uk/whats-on/gigs/the-wurzels-xmas-show/
